CRUX NEWS of offshore
turbine tower installations June 2011 - Borkum West 2 and Global Tech 1
The BW2 and GT1 wind farms located in the German North Sea have tripod structures for their foundations and Crux Products have received orders to deliver for both projects. These two projects differ in that the GT1 tripods will be installed with post-driven piles using the Crux Grout Seal, while the BW2 structures will be installed with pre-driven piles. In this case, the 'Crux 500' Tongue Seal has been developed to span the large annular gap between the pile and pile sleeve that may vary from 100mm up to 500mm resulting from the larger tolerance of each pile position.
May 2011 - Nordsee Ost order
Crux Products have received the order to provide grout seals for the jacket structures for the Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm. Including the Substation, there are to be 49 structures for this wind farm, which will be constructed in water depths of 22 to 25 metres. The Jackets have post-driven piles and the use of the passive Crux Grout Seal will give reliable and efficient operation during the offshore installation, essential for the large number of foundations involved. March 2011 - London Array first foundation
The first Transition Piece of the London Array offshore wind farm has been successfully installed on its monopile foundation. Crux Products are supplying Tongue Seals of diameters 5m and 5.5m for the 175 Wind Turbine and 2 Substation foundations. Installation of the foundations will continue over the year, with the completion of Phase 1 of the London Array scheduled for the end of 2012. |
